Utah Fisherman can often be found regaling the story of the 24 inch hook jawed brown, or that very special arctic grayling that they had to travel and hike to get to. The stories you do not here about is the 6 foot pikeminnow that dodged through Green river rapids before you could land it. Gene Bittler reports from long past "I pitched that green frog out there and this (Colorado pikeminnow) hit it, just about straight across, and he ran down that fast water, riffles, and took out about 200 feet of line before I turned him around," In addition he reported the many steaks cut off this beast to supply many meals for his family. Fishing has changed in Utah and the way you fish is as diverse as the many species that do and still exist.
Utah fish species list:
Including scooping up a few Western Mosquitofish my list is fairly extensive. However, when I look at this list I can see that my work is long but finished.
