Utah Lake Grand Slam: Kayak Fishing

With the world series going on I thought this would be appropriate to post. Lakes are great places to do grand slam fishing, meaning, catching four different species in one day. In the case of a Utah Lake grand slam it has to be done in Utah Lake. There is nothing like knocking in 4 runs to win the game. What a great challenge for a person fishing in a kayak in a lake that is 24 mile long and a width of 11 miles. Good luck!

Hear are the listed species of Utah Lake:

June Sucker (endangered species)

Here is a web page that can help you achieve a grand slam:

Most people that fish Utah Lake are already thinking as they read this challenge what fish they will going for. Some species, like white bass and carp are very common in Utah Lake. Maybe your thinking catfish? You will be surprised at what my son and I caught to nail our "Utah Lake Grand Slam". We ended up catching between 30 and 40 fish in all, the four species being: White Bass, Largemouth Bass, Bluegill, and Crappie.

Is the removal of carp propagating other species?

Just a few keepers for dinner.
